Wes Hoolahan has signed a contract extension with Norwich which will keep him at the club until 2015.

Republic of Ireland international Hoolahan, 30, moved to Norwich from Blackpool in 2008 and was a key part of the Paul Lambert side that won back-to-back promotions from League One to the Premier League.

And he has continued to play an important role under Lambert's successor Chris Hughton as Norwich have put together a nine-game unbeaten run in the league this season leading to the club rewarding him with a new deal.

"I am over the moon. I always wanted to sign a new deal and the club have given me the opportunity to sign a long-term deal here. I couldn't be happier," Hoolahan said on the club's official website.

"I am here until 2015, I have been here for four years and that would take me to seven. I have really enjoyed my time here, my family love it here and it is great to pencil it down and I am just looking forward to the rest of the season now.

"The last couple of years have been great coming up from League One all the way up to the Premier league and doing so well last year.

"We are doing even better this season and hopefully we can keep that run going. The last few months I have been playing and it is just great to be involved with the lads. We have got some top-quality players here and I am really enjoying it.''
