Bin Hammam ban extended

FIFA has extended a provisional ban against former presidential challenger Mohamed Bin Hammam.

FIFA said an investigation by ethics chief Michael J Garcia has found that breaches of the ethics code "appears to have been committed'' and extended the ban pending proceedings against the Qatari.

Bin Hammam was banned for life by FIFA last year after being found guilty of bribery while campaigning for the presidency but had the lifetime suspension overturned in court.

Information from Press Association was used in this report.
