Catania avoid shock loss to Cittadella

Gonzalo Bergessio scored twice in a 3-1 extra-time victory as Catania avoided a shock exit to nine-man Cittadella in the fourth round of the Coppa Italia.

Tommaso Bellazzini missed a penalty in the 28th minute but the Serie B outfit would take the lead in Sicily thanks to Andrea Paolucci's free-kick four minutes before the break.

Citta duo Massimiliano Busellato and Andrea De Vito were both dismissed for picking up two yellow cards in the second half, though, leaving Bergessio space to level with two minutes left to play.

Extra-time loomed large and the visitors were unable not hold out any longer, with quick goals from Francesco Lodi and Bergessio booking the hosts a fifth-round meeting with Parma.
