Juventus took a giant step toward qualifying for the Champions League knockout stages with a 3-0 win over Chelsea on Tuesday.

Galatasaray, meanwhile, remained on course to join Manchester United in the last 16 after Burak Yilmaz secured a 1-0 victory over the already-qualified English side.

Fabio Quagliarella and Arturo Vidal -- who were both on target for Juventus in the 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge -- again scored against Chelsea.

Sebastian Giovinco sealed the result in the final minute.

Juventus is second in Group E, two points above Chelsea and one behind Shakhtar Donetsk, which it faces in the last group match. Chelsea needs to beat Nordsjaelland and for Shakhtar to defeat Juve in the last group matches to go through.

"It's a big disappointment," Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo said. "It's been a difficult evening for us, for the team, for the club. So there was a lot of reflection. "It's mathematically still possible, and you always try while there's still hope. Who says Juve are not going to lose against Shakhtar? We have to do our own job against Nordsjaelland."

Mirko Vucinic recovered from flu to start up front with Quagliarella, whose last-minute goal had rescued a point for Juventus in its Champions League opener.

Di Matteo dropped Fernando Torres, while captain John Terry was missing through injury.

The English side hasn't not won any of its past four games in the Premier League, but victory in Turin would have guaranteed a spot in the next round.

"I'm responsible for the result. I'm responsible for the performance, and tonight was negative," Di Matteo said. "If anyone has to take the blame, it's me. I select the team. The blame belongs to me."

Chelsea struggled to carve out any real opportunities, although Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon did well to deny Eden Hazard and Juan Mata.

Juventus hit the post in the fourth minute through a volley by Stephan Lichsteiner, who also had an effort cleared off the line by Ashley Cole.

Chelsea had its best chance minutes later as Oscar skipped past two Juventus players before releasing Hazard, but Buffon managed to turn his effort into the side-netting with his legs.

In Istanbul, Yilmaz headed home at the start of the second half, giving him all five goals in Group H for Galatasaray.

The Turkish side remains in second place ahead of Cluj on goal difference with one game remaining.

We deserved this victory," Galatasaray coach Fatih Terim said. "We dominated the game and in the end found the goal that we needed. When you play against a team like Manchester United, you cannot go slowly. You have to be enthusiastic and wise.

"I am fortunate my players were able to be both things this evening."

United's run of four straight wins only came to an end after manager Alex Ferguson left key players at home for the trip to the intimidating Turk Telecom Arena in Istanbul.

"I think they handled the atmosphere and the temperament was good," Ferguson said. "They handled that OK. Parts of the game were good but the area in which we were worried about -- set-pieces -- we suffered. That was always going to be a worry for us.

Two weeks after beating Barcelona at home, Glasgow Celtic lost 2-1 at Benfica and dropped into third in Group G behind its Portuguese opponent on head-to-head record.

Bayern and Valencia (both 3-1-1) each advanced from Group F with a 1-1 tie in Spain that eliminated BATE Borisov (2-3). Valencia, playing a man short after Antonio Barragan's 33rd-minute ejection, went ahead on Sofiane Feghouli's goal in the 77th. Thomas Mueller tied it five minutes later with a shot that grazed Feghouli.

Lille (1-4) win 2-0 at BATE on goals by Djibril Sidibe in the 14th minute and Gianni Bruno in the 31st.
