Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic dedicated his goal in the 2-0 win over Torino on Monday night to the suspended Daniele De Rossi.
That strike, added to a penalty from Pablo Osvaldo, was enough to secure victory over their newly-promoted opponents.
Pjanic had kind words for De Rossi who missed the game due to his ban for punching Stefano Mauri during last week's Rome derby.
The Bosnian international said: "My goal tonight is dedicated to De Rossi, he was obviously not playing, but we really wanted him on the pitch.
"We know we are not in a good situation at the moment but we all feel like we have the quality to recover.
"I thought we played well tonight - we defended very well. If we continue to play like this then results will surely come."
Roma coach Zdenek Zeman praised his players following the victory in the rearranged fixture, which sent them up to sixth in the table.
He told Sky Italia: "For me, the team played really well tonight, we played with pace, aggression and avoided the sort of mistakes that have cost us in other matches.
"The clean sheet also pleased me."
It was not all good news for the Giallorossi, however. Despite playing the whole 90 minutes, Erik Lamela will require tests on his right ankle and is a doubt for this weekend's meeting with Pescara.
The Argentinian star has become a vital member of Zeman's side after scoring in six of his last seven matches.
