Roar's Berisha looking fit, Theo in doubt

By Wayne Heming

Brisbane super boot Besart Berisha seems certain to line up against Sydney FC on Friday night but teammate and big-game goalkeeper Michael Theo is in doubt with a calf injury.

Berisha, who has been struggling to overcome an abdominal injury, appeared to get through his second training session on Wednesday without any issues after sitting out last weekend's 4-1 loss to Melbourne Heart.

He's had a course of cortisone injections which seem to have settled his injury down.

Theo, though, was unable to take his place in the nets for Wednesday's session with reserve 'keeper Matt Acton on standby to make his A-League debut if needed.

The Roar are under siege following three straight losses - including an out-of-character 4-1 defeat at the hands of the Heart last weekend - and have slumped to last place on the A-League ladder.

It's put rookie coach Rado Vidosic under pressure to make changes but, so far, he has shown faith in his players to find a way out of their early form crisis.
