Pavlovic and the Phoenix part ways
Striker Mirjan Pavlovic's contract with the Wellington Phoenix has been terminated by mutual consent, the A-League soccer franchise says. The news follows a statement from the Phoenix last month that the 23-year-old Croatia-born footballer had a medical condition which restricted his ability to play professional soccer.Pavlovic made 25 appearances for the Phoenix, joining the club in 2010 on a youth contract after making his A-League debut for the Newcastle Jets the previous year.He played 16 games last season despite breaking his arm 11 days before the October 9 kickoff.Pavlovic has since been on loan to New South Wales premier league team Sydney United 58 FC.A statement from the Phoenix on Wednesday said management wanted to thank Pavlovic for his services and wished him every success in his football career.
