Forlan, Seedorf fire as Vasco fall

ESPN Staff

Diego Forlan was the hero for Internacional as his two firs- half goals inspired his side to a come from behind 2-1 win over Vasco da Gama.

Vasco opened the scoring through Jonas before the Uruguayan striker scored his first goal in the 34th minute and then put his side ahead with a neatly-taken goal on the stroke of half-time.

That goal proved to be the winner and the three points lifts Internacional to sixth, now just two points behind Vasco with six games to play.

Elsewhere, Bruno Mendes and Clarence Seedorf were the goalscorers for Botafogo in a 2-0 win over Figueirense. Botafogo proved too strong for the side currently sitting second from bottom in the Campeonato, with the win lifting the victors to seventh position.
