Courtet out till December

ESPN staff

Reims striker Gaetan Courtet has been ruled out for six weeks after suffering a complete rupture of his knee ligaments.

Courtet, whose four goals have helped newly-promoted Reims to a fine start to the Ligue 1 season, suffered the injury during the recent 1-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.

"I challenged for a high ball and lost my balance, and landed badly," the 23-year-old told L'Union. "I immediately felt pain in my left knee. I returned hoping it would get better. As I was warm, I thought I could continue without too much pain.

"I have to move on and take this setback calmly. Injuries are part of the game and you have to accept that. You know me, I never give up. I will come back stronger."
