Former Arsenal and Chelsea player Emmanuel Petit has revealed he wants to stand for the role of President of the French Football Federation in the 2016 elections.

Petit, 42, who won 63 caps for France, helping them to both the 1998 World Cup and Euro 200, has shied away from football since retiring in 2005.
But after deciding that a coaching or managerial role was not for him the former Barcelona man now sees his future working for the governing body of French football and is targeting Noel Le Graet's job.
"Being a coach or a teacher is not my vocation," he told France Football. "I'm more comfortable in positions of power, because it is where the future of football lies.
"I am ready to invest in football in a political way. President of the Federation. There will be other people with me, it is a collective project.
"I came to a simple conclusion: there is more drift in the football business and a growing gap.
"I'm not here to mess around, but to serve French football and everyone."
