Borussia Dortmund have announced that right back Lukasz Piszczek has signed a new long-term contract with the club.

• Bundesliga: Bayern remain undefeated

Piszczek, 27, joined Dortmund from Hertha Berlin in 2010 and has since made a name for himself as one of the best full backs in Europe.

The Poland international has lifted back-to-back Bundesliga titles at the Westfalenstadion, while he also won the DFB-Pokal last season.

Piszczek has now put pen to paper on a new five-year deal, which ties him to Dortmund until 2017.

He told the club's official website: "I have been playing for two years in Dortmund and I have come to understand the footballing culture.

"I am pleased with the commitment to this special club and this exceptional team that I play in."
