PFA chief executive Gordon Taylor wants tighter regulations on the safety of boots to be considered at the next meeting of the FA football medical committee.

The call comes after Manchester United's Wayne Rooney suffered a severe gash when caught by a boot during the game against Fulham at Old Trafford.
Taylor told ESPN: "We shall be raising the matter of safety regulations at the next meeting of the football medical committee."
The safety of football boot blades and their potential to cause injuries such as Rooney's will be discussed, and Taylor added: "The injury that involved Wayne Rooney is a hybrid mix of studs and 'blades."
Rooney has only recently returned to action after the injury, which happened in a challenge with Hugo Rodallega.
He was sidelined for four weeks after undergoing surgery to stitch the wound, and revealed that the studs of Rodallega's boot had narrowly missed a major artery.
Match officials test the sharpness of blades and studs prior to kick-off, but Taylor believes the tests need to be much more strenuous and wants to see stricter controls on safety.
