Savic pleased to make Fiorentina debut

Fiorentina defender Stefan Savic was delighted to finally make his debut for the Viola on Sunday and believes the club can target European qualification.

• Fiorentina 1-0 Bologna

Savic, 21, joined Vincenzo Montella's side in August as part of the deal that saw Matija Nastasic move the other way to Manchester City.

And after making his first appearance for his new club in the 1-0 Serie A win against Bologna, the Montenegro international was just pleased to get onto the pitch at last.

"I made my debut on Sunday and I'm glad it coincided with a win for my team,'' he said. "After the bureaucratic problems I finally played and this is the beginning of a beautiful adventure.

''I am pleased with my form and a debut victory. I am very happy at Fiorentina. I hope that this season there may be room for me and the team will be able to reach the top five, so that we can bring Fiorentina into Europe.''

Savic joined City from Partizan Belgrade in July 2011 for £6 million but struggled to make a real impression during his time at the Etihad Stadium.
