Kosmina backs Vidosic for Socceroos recall
Liam FitzGibbon
Adelaide coach John Kosmina said Dario Vidosic was deserving of a Socceroos recall after his starring role in the Reds' A-League win over Newcastle. The midfielder scored one goal and set up the other in the Reds' 2-0 win at Hunter Stadium, less than four days after playing in their Asian Champions League quarter-final loss to Bunyodkor in Uzbekistan.Vidosic, 25, has not played for the Socceroos since friendly matches against New Zealand and Serbia in June last year, with Australia coach Holger Osieck overlooking him in recent squads. But Kosmina feels the former Brisbane Roar and Nuremberg player is deserving of another chance."I think Dario's got a point to prove," Kosmina said after Sunday's win."I think he should be playing for Australia, 100 per cent he's good enough to play for Australia."Now I think he's got to look at being consistent over the course of the season."Vidosic was a Socceroos squad member at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and Kosmina predicted he would make the most of a chance to play a part in Australia's campaign to reach Brazil 2014."If he gets that chance again, I don't think he'll throw it away," Kosmina said.
