Cherries chief drops Redknapp hint

ESPN staff

Bournemouth chairman Eddie Mitchell has hinted that he would be keen on Harry Redknapp to resume his managerial career at the club.

Redknapp has been out of work since his departure from Tottenham in the summer, but has been working with the League One club Bournemouth in a consultancy role.

Manager Paul Groves was dismissed on Wednesday following a poor start to the season, and Mitchell claims he has already spoken to Redknapp in regards to the vacancy.

He told Hot Radio: "We've spoken about the football club and the best way forward and Harry knows my feelings but I can't say much more than that.

"Harry is his own man and he's got the capability to manage at a club much higher than a League One club, but that's where we are at the moment."
