Matija Nastasic has spoken of his shock when he discovered Manchester City were trying to sign him.

Nastasic, 19, joined the Premier League champions on transfer deadline day in a £12 million part-exchange deal that took Stefan Savic to Fiorentina.
The Serbian defender, who spent a solitary season in Serie A, said he is taken aback by the speed of his rise. He was informed of City's interest in the middle of August, explaining: "The first I heard of it was 15 to 20 days ago and of course I was surprised. I did not expect to transfer to a major club and league such as Manchester City and the Premier League after only a year at Fiorentina."
Savic never settled in the Premier League but Nastasic hopes he can acclimatise to the English game quickly.
"When I started to play in Italy, I needed some time to adjust, for sure," he added. "But I'd made an extra effort to limit this period of change to a minimum and I'm hoping to do the same in England even though the style of football is different compared to Italy.
Nastasic has been described as 'the new Nemanja Vidic' but did not discuss the move with his compatriot.
"We didn't talk because I am aware of the rivalry between Manchester City and Manchester United," he told the club's official website.
He is looking forward to teaming up with City captain Vincent Kompany, saying: "I'm sure I'll be able to learn a lot from him. Playing for City by definition means we'll be playing for trophies and I'm sure that City intend to strive to win each and every trophy. This is great motivation for me and the main reason for my arrival."
