City duo happy with deadline day dealings

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini and the club's sporting director Brian Marwood have voiced satisfaction with the club's transfer deadline day business.

The Premier League champions brought in five new players - Richard Wright, Scott Sinclair, Maicon, Matija Nastasic and Javi Garcia.

And although Mancini expressed frustration that he had missed out on transfer window targets including Robin van Persie and Eden Hazard, both he and Marwood were satisfied with City's deadline day dealings.

Mancini told the Sun: "Getting these players we have bought, I am happy.

"I was frustrated, as it is difficult to do everything in one week or 10 days. When you finish the season, you have a meeting with the club.

"You talk about players, but sometimes it is not possible to take all the players you want. You should have a different choice."

Marwood, too, was content with business, with City wary of paying over the odds for high-profile players, particularly with UEFA's Financial Fair Play rules in mind.
