Spurs yet to bid for Damiao

Internacional vice-president Luciano Davi expects offers to come in for Leandro Damiao after his Olympic success but says Tottenham Hotspur have yet to make a bid.

• Internacional say Damiao not for sale

Damiao, 23, has been in impressive form at London 2012, netting four goals to take Brazil to the semi-finals, and there has been speculation about a move to Europe.

AC Milan are believed to retain an interest in the striker despite vice-president Adriano Galliani recently saying his €25 million valuation was "exaggerated", and longstanding suitors Spurs are understood to have revived their interest in his services. However, Davi says that, while his Olympic record is certain to attract attention, the Premier League club have yet to make an offer.

"There has been no offer from Tottenham but there were offers that he didn't accept," he told Radio Gaucha. "We are waiting for him to return before we decide what we are going to do. He is with Inter, but we are braced for any eventuality."

On his Olympic performances, he added: "I won't say I'm not supporting him because he deserves it but, with every goal he scores, there is a feeling of horror. If an offer comes in, Inter will look at it."

Despite having seen Oscar leave for Chelsea earlier in the transfer window, Internacional coach Fernandao remains upbeat about the club's chances of retaining Damiao.

"There will be offers for Damiao, no question," he said. "In the last four transfer windows there have been offers. We have rejected several in recent years. Oscar only left because his release clause was met - we could not prevent it.

"I hope he [Damiao] gets the gold medal. He, along with Oscar, Juan and Pato, deserves it. Let him win and then return to help us. I am planning to use Damiao when he gets back."
