Juan, 33, had a year remaining on his previous terms at Roma, who he joined from Leverkusen for £5 million in 2007, but has parted ways with the club to seal a return to his homeland
"There are cycles in football and mine at Roma was beautiful," he told Gazzetta dello Sport. "I'll always carry the fans and my team-mates in my heart who were always very respectful to me.
"I'll leave with my head held high as I always did my best and I'm proud of that."
Roma played over 100 times for Roma, scoring 11 goals, and earned 82 caps for Brazil before retiring from international football in 2010.
