Bayer Leverkusen have announced the signing of defender Daniel Carvajal from Real Madrid on a five-year deal.
Carvajal, 20, joins Leverkusen for an undisclosed fee after struggling for first-team opportunities at Madrid.
"We have managed to strengthen ourselves in the position of right-back with this transfer," said Leverkusen chief executive Wolfgang Holzhauser.
"Daniel Carvajal is already an outstanding player but still has immense potential due to his young age."
Holzhauser continued: "(Jose) Mourinho recommended Carvajal highly. He thinks a lot of the boy, but also said that he could continue to perform at another club.
"In real terms, he's behind Sergio Ramos and Alvaro Arbeloa. With us, he can continue to perform."
