Verratti set for PSG move

ESPN staff

Pescara midfielder Marco Verratti has moved a step closer to joining French side Paris St Germain, after his agent confirmed he could sign as soon as the end of this week.

Verratti, 19, helped Pescara to promotion from Serie B last campaign and is set to make a €12 million switch to the French capital.

The teenage playmaker, who was included in Italy's preliminary squad for Euro 2012, had been linked with Juventus, but failed to agree terms on a move.

"Verratti's intention is to say yes to PSG,'' Donato Di Campli told Tutto Mercato Web. "He should sign his contract either at the start of next week or at the end of this week."

Italy Under-21 international Verratti is set to sign a five-year deal with the Parisian giants.
