Inter Milan technical director Marco Branca has confirmed that full-back Maicon could be on his way out of the club, with Chelsea waiting in the wings.

Inter will also meet with Palermo on Wednesday to discuss the transfer of Argentine defender Matias Silvestre.

Branca met with head coach Andrea Stramaccioni on Tuesday afternoon regarding the club's plans and informed journalists of the latest news on his way out.

"Is Maicon leaving? This will take a while, so we won't have any more news on this today," Branca said. "Tomorrow we will meet with Palermo for Silvestre and probably the player's agent too."

Maicon has been linked with a €6 million move to European champions Chelsea, whilst 27-year-old Silvestre has been linked with the Nerazzurri for some time.
