Campbell, 20, joined the Gunners from hometown club Deportivo Saprissa in 2011, but spent last term on loan in Ligue 1 with Lorient.

The young striker featured regularly in France but is still to secure a work permit so is not eligible to play in England.

With that in mind, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is happy to send him out on loan again and Campbell is relishing the chance to test himself in La Liga.

"It's a great opportunity for me to grow," Campbell told Fox TV. "I am going to the world's best league, and I want to play. I want to show what I am capable of."
