Mandzukic starred at Euro 2012 for Croatia, scoring three goals as Slaven Bilic's side narrowly failed to emerge from a tough group that also included Spain and Italy.
The striker had been told before the tournament that he was free to leave Wolfsburg, despite having two years left on his deal, and now his representative Ivan Cvjetkovic says a move to Bayern has been finalised.
"We are delighted that the transfer has gone through,'' he said. "It was Mario's wish to move to a top club. After two years in Wolfsburg, this is the logical next step for Mario.''
Cvjetkovic said that Mandzukic had signed a four-year deal with the Bavarian club, having been recommended to them by Wolfsburg manager Felix Magath.
