Jan Vertonghen's agent has called on Ajax to push through a deal to allow the defender to secure a move to Tottenham.
• Vertonghen committed to Spurs move
Spurs have been working on a deal for some time and expected the transfer to go through earlier this month, despite the departure of Harry Redknapp. The two clubs are believed to have thrashed out a deal, but it is being claimed that Ajax and Vertonghen are at odds over a sell-on percentage.
Vertonghen is believed to have a clause that grants him a percentage of any fee, but Ajax are said to be unwilling to pay with the Belgian in the final 12 months of his contract.
Ajax remain confident the deal will progress and the player's agent has called on the club to be true to their word.
"Jan Vertonghen has always been loyal to Ajax and he expects the club to do this now," the player's agent Mustapha Nakhli told de Telegraaf.
Ajax financial director Jeroen Slop said: "We all hoped for a rapid agreement between Tottenham and Ajax and Tottenham and Jan Vertonghen.
"It's in its final stage, but in our opinion there is still nothing concrete."
