France international Marvin Martin has joined Ligue 1 side LOSC Lille from Sochaux for a reported fee of €10 million.

• Martin set for Lille

Martin, 24, is currently with the France squad at the European Championship in Poland and Ukraine, but will join up with his new side in July ahead of the coming season.

"I am very happy," Martin told Lille's official website. "I wanted to sign for Lille because they are an ambitious club I have been interested in for a long time. You can talk about a real choice here, and I hope from all my heart that everything will go well."

On Thursday, Martin added to UEFA's official website: "Whether it was Yohan [Cabaye], Adil [Rami] or 'Debuch' [Mathieu Debuchy], they all advised me to sign for Lille. We actually spoke quite a bit and they really made me feel comfortable with my decision because they only had positive things to say about the club."

Lille will hope that Martin can go some way to replacing the departed Eden Hazard as they look to secure a place in this season's Champions League through the play-off round in August.

The outgoing Sochaux midfielder has 14 caps for his country, having made two appearances so far at Euro 2012.
