Brazil international Ramires, who turns 25 later this month, joined the club from Benfica in 2010 and has gone on to feature regularly for both Carlo Ancelotti and Andre Villas-Boas.
He has been one of the most consistent performers at Stamford Bridge this season, contributing four goals from 21 league appearances, although he did play all 90 minutes of the 1-0 loss to West Brom at the weekend, which heralded the end of Villas-Boas.
Ramires told the club's official website: "I am very happy with my new contract. I am very happy with the support I have playing for this club so I want to say thank you to Chelsea."
