Dalglish not in the market

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish does not expect any transfer activity at Anfield before the window closes on Tuesday night.

• City reject Carroll-Tevez swap proposal

Over the weekend it emerged Liverpool made "tentative enquires" to Manchester City about the possibility of swapping Andy Carroll for Carlos Tevez.

But the discussions went no further than an enquiry and Dalglish has confirmed his squad is set to remain intact for the second half of the campaign, despite ongoing speculation they could swoop for a striker.

"There is no-one going in or out of the club before the transfer window [closes]," he said. "There is nothing happening here. Here at Melwood there will be no-one moving in or out.

"I don't read the papers so I don't know [about speculation]. We have covered what we have to say. We don't need to justify what people are speculating about do we."
