Blackburn boss Michael Appleton will welcome Fabio Nunes, David Dunn and Markus Olsson into his squad for the clash with Brighton.

Experienced midfielder Dunn has been troubled by a persistent calf problems since October, while widemen Nunes and Olsson are back from hamstring injuries.

Josh King is unlikely to be risked in attack as he continues his rehabilitation from a similar complaint.

Midfielder Dickson Etuhu (knee) and right-back Adam Henley (hamstring) remain on the sidelines along with long-term knee injury-victim Leon Best.

Rovers suffered their first defeat in five matches when Appleton began his tenure with a 2-1 defeat on Saturday - their sixth loss in the league at Ewood Park this season.

Brighton were scheduled to face Blackburn on December 22 but the match was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Leonardo Ulloa could be added to the Brighton squad for the trip.

The Argentine striker joined the Seagulls late last week from Spanish La Liga side Almeria, but was not involved in Saturday's 2-2 draw at Birmingham.

Defender Bruno will miss out again as he continues his attempts to overcome a troublesome Achilles injury.

Bruno is due to start training this week in the hope of being involved against Arsenal in the FA Cup on Saturday, but fellow Spaniard Inigo Calderon will deputise at right-back again at Ewood Park.

Former Spain midfielder Vicente made his long-awaited return from a thigh injury as a late substitute at the weekend and could feature again if he has suffered no adverse reaction to his first outing since August.
