Five wins and a draw in the past six games have catapulted Fiorentina into the chase for the Scudetto behind Juventus, Napoli and Inter Milan, but their coach Vincenzo Montella says the best is yet to come.

The Viola host Atalanta tomorrow looking to underline their own European credentials after several years of international anonymity and Montella is still expecting improvements from his side, which won 3-1 at AC Milan last weekend.

"I think this team can continue to improve,'' he said. "I don't know if that means also in terms of the league position, but we have margin for improvement, I am convinced.''

Fiorentina are widely recognised as the side who currently play the most attractive football in Serie A and comparisons have been made with Spanish giants Barcelona.

"That comparison is not accurate,'' said Montella to Sportitalia.

"It is our idea always to impose ourselves on games and we are trying, but that doesn't mean we will always succeed.

"A lot of the time it depends on the opponents and, in recent games, we have had less of the possession, but got the results.

"As for tomorrow's game, (Stefano) Colantuono has a lot of experience and always has his team playing well and certainly we are up against one of the best sides in the league with important players.''

Atalanta's own form has been admirable in recent weeks with a 3-2 win over Inter Milan last weekend taking them to 13 points from their past five matches.

Nobody in Bergamo is getting carried away like in Florence, though, with the aims for the season unaltered.

"I am more interested in the gap between ourselves and the side third from bottom, not the one third from the top,'' said Colantuono to Sky television.

"We cannot allow ourselves to lose concentration, or else we risk losing.

"Too much has been said about us and we need to work in silence and not get triumphant.''
