Stevan Jovetic has hinted he could pursue a summer departure from Fiorentina should the Tuscan giants not push on and qualify for the Champions League this season.
La Viola blazed a trail into the top three with a run of six wins from seven games but, ahead of their derby meeting with Siena, Vincenzo Montella's men are winless in three and back down in sixth.
Montenegro striker Jovetic may have a host of admirers across Europe, but he pledged his future to Fiorentina this summer and took the time to remind the club of his conditional commitment and personal ambition before tomorrow's game.
He told the Corriere dello Sport: "I'm not thinking about leaving Fiorentina for a bigger club now, I'm just thinking about playing, but we'll see.
"I would want to stay in Italy, though, seeing as I have learned the language. My goal is to try and get Fiorentina into the Champions League.
I received a few offers in the summer but I decided to stay because the president promised to reinforce the squad. He gave me his word.
"Fiorentina are playing good football now and are quite near to the top.''
The 23-year-old Jovetic, who is fit again after a lengthy injury lay-off, has not ruled out becoming a world-class Ballon d'Or contender in the future.
"We'll see,'' he added. "Maybe in a few years because competing with two greats like Ronaldo and Messi is hard.
"It would be nice to play with either of them, of course.''
Ahmed Hegazy, Adem Ljajic and Michele Camporese are injury doubts with Juan Cuadrado and Ruben Oliveira suspended. The latter will miss four games following his stamp on Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic.
Siena, who remain rooted to the bottom of the Serie A table with 11 points, have doubts over Emanuele Calaio, Simone Vergassola, Gianluca Pegolo, Luis Neto and Angelo.
Fiorentina have won five of their last seven home encounters with their Tuscan neighbours, with the Bianconeri taking just two points from Florence in eight years.
