Brechin are without Craig Molloy due to a knee injury as they host Ayr United at Forfar's Station Park.

City's own Glebe Park surface continues to be unplayable.

Manager Ray McKinnon has welcomed the move to their Angus neighbours as his side face a fixture pile-up, and is now keeping his fingers crossed that the predicted heavy snowfall in the area does not cause another postponement.

McKinnon said: "I am glad that we got this game organised as we cannot keep coming out of cold storage and playing once every two or three weeks.

"The players have been fantastic and they will need to be again as Ayr have run us really close in our last two games.

"Hopefully the snow stays away and we can play.''

Ayr midfielder Robbie Crawford and player-manager Mark Roberts are available after suspension for their trip north.

But Adam Hunter is banned while David Sinclair drops out with an ankle injury and Kyle McAusland's broken thumb keeps him sidelined.

After 2-1 defeats by Brechin recently Roberts is out to turn things around.

He said: "There is not much between the sides and hopefully we can get the kind of break that they have had in those two games.

"They have done really well to remain in third place despite the interruptions their season has had but if we win this one people will start looking at our play-off hopes in a more serious way.''
