Armin Veh will make an emotional return to Stuttgart tomorrow as he leads his high-flying Eintracht Frankfurt side to the club where he celebrated winning the Bundesliga in 2007.
Frankfurt are currently the closest challengers to Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich and, while the league's newcomers remain rank outsiders for the title, Veh does at least know what it takes to upset the odds and win the crown.
He did just that with an unfancied Stuttgart in 2007 and the memories of the biggest achievement of his coaching career will come flooding back tomorrow.
"Of course this is not a normal game for me,'' he said. "I had a great time in Stuttgart.
"There were an incredible amount of emotions in winning the title, especially in the celebrations.
"That stays with you. Therefore, there are still one or two people I know who still work at Stuttgart, although not many of the players are still there.
"I have had a good connection with Stuttgart and that makes me happy to come back here.''
Veh also sees parallels between his current Frankfurt team and the Stuttgart side he led to glory five years ago.
"We also have a few young, talented players, but in Stuttgart, there were a few more established players like (Fernando) Meira or (Matthieu) Delpierre and there was a bit more quality in the squad overall,'' he said.
Meira and Delpierre have now moved on and only four members of that title-winning squad are still on the books.
Cacau is injured and Christian Gentner is a doubt, but Arthur Boka and Serdar Tasci could both come up against their former coach.
Both played in Stuttgart's 0-0 Europa League draw with Copenhagen on Thursday, but Veh does not expect them to be tired because of that.
"You have got to be able to play three times in a week,'' he said. "I can't see that being an advantage for us.
"It was the same when we played against Gladbach, who had played on the Thursday, and they beat us so you cannot say whether it is an advantage or not.''
That was Frankfurt's one and only defeat of the season and Veh will hope history does not repeat itself again tomorrow against another Europa League participant.
