From relegation candidates to European hopefuls - a lot can change in the space of a week in the Bundesliga.
Nurnberg head to Mainz knowing that a second successive win after a sequence of five defeats in their previous six games would take them into a share of sixth place, and their coach Dieter Hecking says things are already starting to look up.
"The enjoyment is back again,'' he told reporters. "Our aim is to pick up points in Mainz. We showed the first positive signs in the Wolfsburg game, despite of the pressure we were under.''
That 1-0 victory last weekend was a breath of fresh air for the Bavarians, who responded well after having their exit from Gelsenkirchen blocked by their own fans only a week before following a 1-0 defeat to Schalke.
"The indications are that the majority of the team from the Wolfsburg game will start again,'' announced Hecking at a press conference.
"We had shown signs of improvement already and we must now have the courage to play attacking football.
"If we are solid at the back, then we will have chances and room up front.''
Hecking welcomes Robert Mak back into his squad a few weeks after demoting him to the reserves due to indiscipline while Timothy Chandler is also an option.
Mainz would move above defending champions Borussia Dortmund with a home win, and their coach Thomas Tuchel is relying on the league's joint top goalscorer Adam Szalai tomorrow night.
"Adam is extraordinary,'' he said. "He has taken a huge leap forwards this season.''
The Hungarian has scored eight goals this season, making up for lost time after spending a year sidelined with injury.
