Eintracht Frankfurt could drop out of the top six in the Bundesliga for the first time this season when they face Werder Bremen tomorrow, but coach Armin Veh is nonetheless satisfied with their return so far in their first season back in the top flight.

After winning six of their first eight matches, Frankfurt have managed to pick up just one victory from their seven games since, but Veh insists the alarm bells are not ringing.

"All clubs go through a phase in which they don't particularly look good,'' he said. "We always knew that we could have problems when we lose one or two players so it's not surprising.''

Parallels can be drawn with Frankfurt's last season in the top flight two years ago when they ended the first half of the season with 26 points and were setting their sights on a place in Europe, only to slump in the second half of the season and get relegated.

To avoid a repeat of that, new players are set to arrive in the winter to ensure Frankfurt remain competitive in 2013.

"I certainly don't need to be reminded of examples of when I was not even here,'' Veh added in an interview with Kicker magazine.

"Even if we didn't have players out injured, signing new players in the winter would still be on the agenda.''

Opponents Bremen may not be so eager to act in the transfer market this winter, especially in light of Marko Arnautovic's hat-trick against Hoffenheim a week ago.

"Marko's development has been very, very positive overall,'' Bremen coach Thomas Schaaf said.

"His performance in Hoffenheim confirms that. Marko needs these kind of successes, they do him good.

"I hope they give him a further boost to be able to repeat such performances over and over again.''
