Carlisle winger Matty Robson is hoping to prove his fitness in time to be included in the squad for the visit of Brentford.

Robson, operating at left-back in the absence of Chris Chantler, has missed the last four games due to a groin injury.

But the Cumbrians will still be without striker Lee Miller, who sits out the second of a three-match ban following his dismissal in last week's defeat at Notts County, so teenager Mark Beck is hoping to retain his place in the starting line-up alongside Rory Loy.

Manager Greg Abbott, who has no new injury or suspension worries, must decide whether to stick with Jon-Paul McGovern on the left of a three-pronged strikeforce, while winger Andy Welsh, centre-halves Mike Edwards and Peter Murphy, plus midfielder Liam Noble are all hoping to feature.

The Cumbrians are chasing their first win in seven league matches.

Kevin O'Connor and Farid El Alagui have returned to training for Brentford ahead of the clash.

Club captain O'Connor - who signed a new one-year contract this week - has been out since November with an ankle injury and striker El Alagui has missed the last five months due to a knee problem.

The duo may not be risked at Brunton Park but could play a major part for Uwe Rosler's side in the promotion run-in.

Teenage left-back Jake Bidwell is available again after agreeing a one-month extension to his loan spell from Everton.

Harry Forrester is poised to return in midfield after dropping to the bench for the first half of the 1-0 midweek defeat at Stevenage.
