Stevenage have doubts over Anthony Grant and Greg Tansey ahead of the visit of Preston.

Grant looks set to miss out after twisting his knee during Tuesday's 3-1 win at Yeovil, while fellow midfielder Tansey was complaining of a tight hamstring at the end of the match.

Centre-half Jon Ashton has been ruled out until Christmas with an Achilles injury but full-back Lee Hills is pushing to make his debut after finally recovering from a thigh problem.

Midfielder Robin Shroot has missed the last two matches and is likely to be overlooked again after requesting a loan move, but striker Patrick Agyemang will be hoping to face his former club.

Preston defender Bailey Wright is set to revert to centre-back as Graham Westley prepares for a return to Boro.

Wright, 20, returned from injury to feature at left-back during Tuesday night's last-gasp 1-1 draw with Carlisle at Deepdale.

He was replaced at half-time as part of a tactical reshuffle that brought Lee Holmes, recently back from a badly gashed knee, onto the left-wing and saw Scott Laird drop to full-back.

But Paul Huntington then picked up his fifth booking of the season meaning he will miss the trip to Broadhall Way and leaving Wright as the favourite to partner Chris Robertson at the heart of defence.

Bookings have started to add up in recent weeks for Westley's men, with Jeffrey Monakana set to return having sat out the Carlisle game following one-match bans for Keith Kean and John Welsh in recent weeks.

Club captain John Mousinho is pushing for a return in midfield following a bout of mumps, while veteran forward Lee Trundle (knee) is stepping up his rehabilitation but remains out.
