Lille boss Rudi Garcia is determined to get his side's season up and running as they return to Ligue 1 action at promoted Troyes this weekend.

Les Dogues, who finished third last term, have made a mixed start to the new campaign having collected five points from their opening four games.

They were beaten by title favourites Paris St Germain on their last outing a fortnight ago and with a Champions League game against BATE Borisov coming up in midweek, are anxious to build some momentum.

Garcia said: "When you go down at home, as was the case against PSG, then it is question of making up lost points away.

"That is therefore our goal for the game at Troyes this weekend.

"Troyes play good football but that should not prevent us from going out for victory to better prepare for the visit of BATE Borisov in the Champions League.

"If we want to do well in Ligue 1 this season, we must quickly start a new run, and get off again on the right foot.''

Lille will be without former Chelsea forward Salomon Kalou through suspension while France right-back Mathieu Debuchy is doubtful with a foot injury.

Troyes will go into the game at the Stade de l'Aube still looking for their first win since winning promotion to the top flight.

After four games and three defeats, Jean-Marc Furlan's side have just a point to their name but the manager has been pleased with performances.

Furlan told reporters: "If you want to be pragmatic, the balance sheet is wrong - a point in four games, this is insufficient.

"But this figure does not necessarily reflect the truth of the moment.

"Even looking from a neutral point of view would tell you that we really deserved at least a point against Valenciennes and Brest.

"Then it would have been three points, a more honourable record.''
