Evian defender Brice Dja Djedje believes back-to-back defeats should serve as the perfect motivation as they look to get their Ligue 1 campaign back on track in a rearranged match against fellow strugglers Sochaux.

Losses at home to Toulouse and Lille have left Evian just outside of the bottom three, one point and one place better off than tomorrow's opponents.

Sochaux are also looking to end a run of four winless matches, in a fixture which was originally scheduled for October 27 but postponed because of heavy snow.

And Dja Djedje is in no doubt about how much both teams need the points.

"This is game we were supposed to play 10 days ago but couldn't because of the conditions,'' the Ivorian right-back said on

"We'll go there and try to win in order to give ourselves some breathing space.

"However, knowing we've lost our last two matches, both at home, there will be a greater motivation for us.

"We have the opportunity to close the gap on those above us against a team who also want the points.

"The match is really important. Sochaux are right behind us in the table and could overtake us. We must win at all costs to leave the danger zone.''

Sochaux's last outing ended in a 3-1 defeat against Valenciennes - a performance which did not go down well with coach Eric Hely, who has threatened to axe some players unless results improve.

"We did not play, we were non-existent and you can't live like that in Ligue 1,'' he told L'Equipe.

"I can't explain it. We need to find some answers and take action. We talk, talk, talk all the time but we need to act. But which players are willing to act?

"Will I drop some of them? I will have a think about it first and then I will act when the time comes.''
