Elie Baup's Marseille find themselves in the midst of a striker crisis as they look to claim their first win in Bordeaux for an incredible 35 years.

Baup's men are without the injured Andre-Pierre Gignac and Loic Remy, and also have Jordan Ayew suspended as they bid to keep pace with rivals Paris St Germain, who top the table on goal difference.

Baup is set to bring back Fabrice Apruzesse and youngster Bilel Omrani but insisted: "We have not exhausted all our options and we will find a solution. It is nothing to do with problems up front. It is to do with bad luck like injuries and suspensions.

Souleymane Diawara, pushing for a recall after a knee injury, shrugged off his side's dismal record in Bordeaux, insisting: "When I arrived in Marseille we had not won the title in 18 years and we won it that year.

"I do not pay much attention to the statistics. We have talked a lot this week about the fact it has been 35 years since a win in Bordeaux, and how it will be possible to stop this series,'' Diawara told Marseille's official website.

Francis Gillot's Bordeaux will be confident of extending Marseille's misery as they head into the game on the back of three straight wins in all competitions.

Following a midweek UEFA Europa League win over Portuguese side Maritimo, Bordeaux underlined their form with a crushing 4-0 win at Lorient last weekend which lifted them to sixth in Ligue 1.
