Paris St Germain coach Carlo Ancelotti knows his team need to be 100 per cent focused on beating Valenciennes tomorrow despite Sunday's top-of-the-table clash against Lyon looming large on the horizon.

PSG are second in the Ligue 1 standings, five points behind leaders Lyon, who they face at the Parc des Princes this weekend.

A win over Valenciennes would be the perfect start to a busy few days, as PSG look to continue their winning ways after their defeat by Nice at the start of the month.

"The team is ready for these two confrontations,'' Ancelotti told the club's official website.

"We showed a great reaction after our setback in Nice by chaining two victories at home against Porto (2-1) and Evian (4-0).

"The signs are positive at the moment.

"Valenciennes are very competitive, very dangerous at home, and are a side that does not score a lot of goals.

"We need to be focused 100 per cent on the game and not think about the game against Lyon this weekend.''

Midfielder Verratti Matuidi is available for the Parisian side after he served a ban in the 4-0 win over Evian but defender Blaise Matuidi is still suspended.

Ancelotti believes his side have recovered from their recent blip in form which has seen them lose against Rennes, Nice and St Etienne.

"We must not forget our bad times, but in the last two matches the attitude was good and it can help us avoid difficult times,'' the Italian said.

Valenciennes, who are fifth in the league, could only manage a 1-1 draw against Ligue 1 basement club Nancy at the weekend thanks to a second-half own goal by Massodio Haidara.

Coach Daniel Sanchez will be without defender Gil but is otherwise likely to field the same side against PSG that drew with Nancy.
