Marseille coach Elie Baup expects Paris St Germain to win the Ligue 1 title despite his club and Lyon both tying for points at the top of the overall standings.

OM travel to Sochaux to resume their league campaign following the winter break which has seen them beat Guingamp in the Coupe de France and enjoy a training camp in Morocco.

Paris, Marseille and Lyon have all amassed 38 points but Baup has seemingly already written off his side's title hopes at the midway point in the season.

Baup told www.om.net: "PSG is the team who the title should not escape from. Behind, there will be a big fight for the European places.

"This scenario is expected but we all do to change that. This is the most logical reasoning.''

But Baup is keen to improve on Marseille's performances from the first half of the season, especially at their home ground at the Stade Velodrome.

"I often take the example of the match in Nancy (where Marseille won 1-0) where we were very good at times,'' he said.

"We must strive to be more efficient and score more goals. We are a team with a very large ball possession but with a goal difference compared to any other, we must work efficiency.''

Sochaux are third-bottom of the league table but got their year to a winning start with a 1-0 cup victory over Thaon.

The result ended a six-game winless run in all competitions, with Sochaux last tasting victory against Ajaccio midway through November.
