Nice will look to respond immediately to their Coupe de France exit in midweek when they host Bordeaux in Ligue 1 tomorrow.
Claude Puel's team went out of the cup on penalties to the league's bottom side Nancy in a rare reverse on Wednesday night.
However, their league form has been highly impressive with just one defeat in 11 games propelling them to fourth.
Midfielder Kevin Diaz admitted the side were dissatisfied but looked at the positives, telling ogcnice.com: "We're disappointed, obviously.
"In difficult conditions, we tried to take the game and eventually lost on penalties.
"Now we no longer have game after game and we will continue to aspire to the maximum number of victories and points as possible.''
Nice enjoyed a 2-0 win at Lille last weekend and they return home tomorrow where their haul of seven victories is eclipsed only by second-placed Lyon.
While they have improved on last season, Puel knows they must continue to do so.
"We are ambitious but humble, and we are questioning.
"It is by remaining true to these values that we continue to grow.
"The road is still long.''
Bordeaux's 1-0 defeat at leaders Paris St Germain last time out saw them drop to seventh, three points behind tomorrow's opponents.
Francis Gilot's side have lost just three times this season but they are the draw specialists in Ligue 1 with 11 of their 21 games resulting in such an outcome.
Club legend Marius Tresor, who has a coaching role with the Girondins, admires the steps Nice have made but believes his side must go there with a positive outlook - despite having lost forward Yoan Gouffran to Premier League side Newcastle on Wednesday.
He told the club's official website: "They are very impressive. But they have been eliminated (from the Coupe de France) by Nancy.
"Claude Puel has done a good job, they are a great team. They are confident.
"I know that Bordeaux have often struggled there.
"We must erase all that and try to claim the best possible result.
"And why not the three points that allow us to join them!''
