JOSHUA MCEACHRAN
A player who boasts great vision and passing ability, McEachran slowly made his way through the ranks at Stamford Bridge to pick up the 2010 FA Youth Cup and then the Under-17 European Championship. With his star on the rise, he was given a chance in the first-team and made his Chelsea debut aged just 17 years and six months.
Tipped for a big future in the game, he signed a new five-year contract in July 2011 and was loaned to Swansea in January 2012 to continue his development, but he had little first-team involvement under Brendan Rodgers.
Strengths: A wonderful passer of the ball, he has the vision and creativity of a player twice his age.
Weaknesses: Strength and power is not his forte and he can be knocked off the ball. He also has yet to bring consistency and a goal threat to his game.
Career high: McEachran was awarded the Chelsea Young Player of The Year award in May 2011.
Career low: He played only 215 minutes during what he described as a "frustrating" loan spell at Swansea.
Style: Technical, composed, a visionary midfielder.
Quotes: "Chelsea think extremely highly of him and you can see why. He's got the ability and the vision that, you know, if players run off of him, he's got the ability to find them with passes. All of our cutting passes probably came from him. I think, in Josh, he's got a really outstanding talent, similar to Jack Wilshere, and it bodes well for us." England Under-21 manager Stuart Pearce on Josh McEachran in 2011.
Trivia: McEachran made his debut for the England Under-21 side aged just 17.
