Zlatan Ibrahimovic return for Paris Saint-Germain vs. Marseille 'possible'

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is showing "very positive" signs of recovering from injury that mean the striker has an outside chance of featuring in Paris Saint-Germain's league clash with arch-rivals Marseille on Sunday, according to PSG boss Laurent Blanc.

Ibrahimovic, 33, has not played since Sept. 21 due to a heel injury. The Sweden captain watched from the Parc des Princes stands as PSG beat APOEL 1-0 on Wednesday to progress to the Champions League knockout stages.

The former AC Milan forward resumed full training this week, but though he has still yet to rejoin the rest of Blanc's squad, the PSG coach, 48, told media Ibrahimovic may soon be back on the pitch.

"It's a very special kind of injury with elements which -- to my mind -- have been very positive in the last few days," the former Bordeaux and France boss said after seeing his side clinch their place in the knockout phase on Wednesday. "There is a very positive change. For the moment, that's not enough to claim anything whatsoever, but I think that we can start to see light at the end of the tunnel.

"There have been very positive signs for three, four days now. He has resumed individual training, but also running. Physically, and particularly in cardio-vascular terms, he's not really lost a lot, because he's worked a huge amount. If the progress continues in the coming days, anything is possible."
