Nice reveal they will pay for travelling fans' tickets at Paris Saint-Germain

Nice have confirmed that they will pay for every travelling supporter's ticket at Paris Saint-Germain on Dec. 11.

Club president Jean-Pierre Rivere told the club's official website the gesture was "our way of thanking our fans for travelling all across Europe" following the club's Europa League group stage exit.

But Nice are currently second in the domestic league table, with champions PSG one point further back in third place.

Rivere said the club's support in Europe had been "quite extraordinary" and added: "You have to realise what a huge effort that takes. These are long trips in buses, cars and planes.

"Last week, in Gelsenkirchen, all the fans had to either take leave or manage their free time in order to follow their passion. They travelled thousands of kilometres to get behind their team.

"Even in Russia, 17 of our bravest fans were there. Despite the sacrifices involved, we know that it is also a great pleasure and a source of pride for our fans to follow us in European competition."

PSG often see visiting teams boycott trips to the French capital with seats in the away end costing €30 -- roughly three times the usual price of an away game in Ligue 1.

"When the barrier is not administrative, we do not want it to be financial either -- we do not want ticket prices to hold our fans back," Rivere said.

"To make this match a great party and to have our team benefit from the support they deserve, we have to have our most fervent supporters with us."

Nice star Mario Balotelli is expected to return to action following an injury in time to make the trip to the capital.
