Nzonzi, 22, appeared to catch Ryan Shawcross with his elbow during Blackburn's 3-1 Premier League loss to Stoke City on Saturday.

The incident was not seen by referee Mark Halsey, but the Football Association has since reviewed the footage and deemed the act violent conduct.

Nzonzi has accepted the charge and will now miss Tuesday night's game against Cardiff in the Carling Cup and the Premier League matches versus Swansea and Sunderland.
