The agent of Inter Milan defender Cristian Chivu has claimed that he has "five very important offers" from clubs looking to acquire the Romania defender's services.

Chivu, 31, has less than a year left on his contract with the Nerazzurri - a fact that has led to sustained conjecture about his future in recent weeks.

The former Ajax and Roma centre-back will soon be free to speak to interested clubs and his representative Giovani Becali has warned Inter that they face losing him unless a new deal is put forward in the near future.

"Next month we will begin talks with other European clubs, even if we have already received five very important offers, but I cannot say from whom," Becali told newspaper Libertatea.

The likes of Real Madrid and Manchester City have been linked with Chivu's services, while Napoli and PSG are also believed to be monitoring his situation at the San Siro.
