England are being lined up as Sweden's first opponents at their new national stadium when it opens next year, the Swedish Football Association have confirmed.
The Swedish FA hope to agree a November 2012 friendly with their English counterparts as part of a reciprocal arrangement that sees the countries meet at Wembley on Tuesday.
A spokesman said: ''Nothing has been confirmed but we hope to agree a date for England to be our first opponents at the new national stadium in Stockholm.''
The 50,000 Swedbank Arena is under construction and is on course to be completed within the next year.
England also played the first match at Sweden's current national stadium, the Rasunda, in May 1937.
Sweden's final game there is set to be next August against Brazil, who won the World Cup on the ground in 1958.
