Justin Edinburgh on FA Cup dream

McAllister was a part of the Crawley Town side who were beaten 1-0 at Old Trafford in the FA Cup and he is now back in the competition with his new side to take on Shrewsbury (live on ESPN UK) on Saturday.

The 31-year-old striker has yet to get off the mark in the Blue Square Premier Division this season, but has fond memories of his last game in the FA Cup.

He told the Western Mail: "The manager (Steve Evans) kept all the United shirts at the end of the game and we had to wait until training on the Monday to see which one we would get. I got Berbatov's. He didn't actually play, but at the time he was the top scorer in the Premier League so it was a nice one.

"The manager called all the players in and I think I was third in line. I was lucky to get it and I've framed the shirt. The missus has tried to put it on ebay, but I wouldn't let her. It's not hung up yet but it will have pride of place in my new house."

Former Tottenham defender Justin Edinburgh, an FA Cup winner in 1991, is now in charge of County and knows how important the clash could be for the Welsh club.

"We know how this cup run could affect us short term and long term," he said. ''It could speed up the process here in terms of bringing a few players in for our league campaign if we get through and hit the jackpot again.

"Look at Crawley last season, they kept being on television because of the ties they drew and ended up at Man United. The money they invested was paid back and more by the FA Cup, it shows this competition is massive for non-league clubs."
